Jamjuree Thai Cuisine – Thai Food on Capitol Hill

Looking to shake up your weekly dinner plans? Then head on over to Jamjuree Thai Cuisine located on 15th Ave E.

Jamjuree first came into being as a small restaurant in the heart of Thailand –Bangkok. The founding three sisters and a brother shared their love of cooking with other family members, and some of them brought their culinary knowledge to Seattle and opened Jamjuree as you know it. Here at Jamjuree, you’ll enjoy simple but delicuous food–dishes that are neither too traditional nor too ‘nouvelle’– just great Thai home cooking. – Jamjuree.

Jamjuree Thai Cuisine is a Capitol Hill favorite serving up a mean Phad Tai, a decadent Thai iced tea, and a variety of other delectable plates to please any pallet. We recommend the Yellow Curry. Mmm! We’re getting hungry just writing about it!

Awesome food… I go there for the lunch special almost everyday. Best thai food in Seattle without a doubt! via Chau P. on Yelp

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this hidden gem recently and I am SO happy that we did! I really loved the dishes we had, special chicken and pad ki mao, and the portion sizes were perfect! Pad Ki Mao is one of my favorite Thai dishes and Jamjuree did not disappoint. The atmosphere is cute too. It would be great to take family or a date here. And, $20 for two and some leftovers to take home…not too shabby at all! I can’t wait to go back to Jamjuree in the near future! Juliane W. on Yelp

Parking In Seattle Like A Pro

We know….we know….parking in certain Seattle locations can sometimes pose a challenge! During peak hours, inexpensive options can be hard to come across. Though Seattle does offer a number of public transportation options, driving and parking downtown can be inevitable.

In downtown Seattle and Capitol Hill, you will find street parking, paid lots, and parking garages.

To avoid paying a fee, a few places around the city offer parking validation dependent on your purchase at the location. Check with local retailers before visiting to determine if this option can save you money and hassle.

In Downtown Seattle and Capitol Hill, street parking is free weeknights after 8pm in most areas and all day Sunday. This free downtown parking is also offered on most nationally observed holidays.

Though you may not always be able to find free parking, here are a few resources to make your parking experience a bit less stressful:

Your Spot is Here
Visit YourSpotisHere.com for great deals and and parking destinations. Use the interactive map to find daily parking locations and their price, as well as deals from local businesses.

E-Park

Interactive Parking Map

Living in Seattle – Getting to the Airport Via Lightrail

If you are a Seattle native, you may be aware of many of the great options we have for public transportation. If you are from out of town, you will quickly find that King County has a wide variety of buses and ferries to make getting from point A to point B a breeze.

In recent years, Seattle welcomed its newest mode of transportation – the light rail. If you are living on Capitol Hill the Light Rail is just a quick bus or taxi ride away.

What is the Light Rail?
The light rail is an under and over ground train that connects Seattle residents with a variety of locations.  The light rail runs from Westlake all the way to SeaTac Airport. From downtown Seattle, this is one of the most convenient ways to fly out of the city

How much does the Light Rail cost?

The cost of riding Central Link is based on how far you travel. One-way adult tickets start with a base fare of $2.00 and add five cents to the base fare for every mile of your trip.  Day passes cost two times the one-way fare and are good for travel on the service, date and stations printed on the ticket.

When Can I Ride The Light Rail?

The Light Rail has its first service at 5am and has service until around 1am depending on the day. For exact times and schedule please click here.

Have you taken the light rail before? How was your experience?
